The Golden Globes returned to TV screens for the first time in three years last night, and the stars in attendance, including Margot Robbie and Wednesday actress Jenna Ortega, made sure to pull out all the stops for the occasion.
And some stars chose to treat fans to an inside look at their preparations – including Jamie Lee Curtis, Lily James and Kate Hudson.
British star Lily James, who was nominated for her depiction of Pamela Anderson in hit Disney Plus series Pam & Tommy, headed to a spa for a pre-globes facial, before posting several snaps of her lengthy hair and makeup process to get awards show ready.
Her makeup artist, Nina Park, later posted an Instagram reel of Lily’s final look, which was that of discreetly bronzed eyes and natural looking lips that complemented her bright red Versace dress.
Nina was clearly booked and busy for the first awards show of the season, and was also in charge of ensuring Normal People star Daisy Edgar-Jones was primed and ready for the occasion.
Daisy, whose projects Where the Crawdads Sing and Under the Banner of Heaven were both nominated, paired her stunning make-up look with a gothic Gucci gown.
And while Lily’s prep might have been professional, other stars turned to more DIY methods as they got Golden Globes ready.
Jamie Lee Curtis, 64, who was nominated for best supporting actress for Everything Everywhere All At Once, took to her Instagram to post a candid selfie of her wearing a sheet face mask as she got ready for the red carpet.
In the black and white pic, Jamie can be seen in a metallic sheet mask and jokingly captioned the snap, “HOLY GLOBING BATMAN.”
Jamie later wowed on the red carpet in a black lace gown with a matching cape.
Kate Hudson was also taking the do it yourself approach to awards show beauty prep and certainly wasn’t sweating over the details – in fact, the star began getting ready by heading to her home gym for a quick session.
Selena Gomez, who recently headed on a girls trip with Nicola Peltz, posted on her Instagram post-ceremony to show off the process of her hair and makeup before taking to the red carpet.
In a casual white jacket, Selena treated fans to a close up look at her slicked back pony and cat eyeliner look before slipping into a black and plum Valentino gown for the actual show.
The Disney channel actress turned pop star, 30, has her own popular makeup brand, Rare Beauty, and often posts TikToks of her doing her makeup herself and giving her fans her best tips for making the most out of her products.
