Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Peaty has opened up about his decision to go shirtless on the latest edition of the show. The Olympian made the admission during a recent appearance on It Takes Two with his partner Katya Jones.
The pair were speaking to host Rylan Clark-Neal ahead of their performance on Movie Week tonight.
After the host shared a clip of their rehearsal with Adam shirtless, the star shared his wardrobe issue.
Katya joked about his outfit on the show: “Well, there’s not much to it, is there?”
Adam added in the chat last night: “The outfit, there’s a reason why we’re not wearing a top tomorrow.”
He quipped: “It’s because…”
The swimmer then demonstrated his issue as his shirt button popped open after he moved his shoulders.
He continued: “This was the outfit but I broke it so…”
Adam’s wardrobe has been a topic of discussion on the Strictly so far after fans were distracted by his trousers last week.
The star reacted after a BBC called for a “helpline” after seeing them.
MikeyCyrus wrote: “Is there a BBC support helpline for viewers affected by @adam_peaty in those trousers?”
Adam then retweeted the comment before adding three laughing face emojis.
Elsewhere, Adam recently opened up about an awkward error he experienced.
Posting in view of his 134,000 Twitter followers, he penned: “Just been dropped at the wrong dance studio, walked in to a whole class doing tap dance. (sic)
“I wanted to join but walked straight out as I have a Rumba to conquer before Saturday.”
Adam and Katya will be performing a Rumba on tonight’s show for Movie Week.
The pair will be dancing to I See You by Leona Lewis from James Cameron’s film Avatar.
This follows on from them failing to impress the judges on last week’s show.
Last Saturday, they performed a Quickstep to Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jet.
However, they only managed 19 points before being saved by the public vote.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight on BBC One.
