ICYMI: Hayden Panettiere reveals alcohol and opioid addiction, plus more news

_

Hayden Panettiere has revealed that she’s been battling addiction for years, admitting that drinking and drugs nearly ruined her. In a People magazine cover story that hit the interview on July 6, the “Nashville” alum said she became dependent on alcohol and opioids. “My saving grace is that I couldn’t be messy while on set and working,” she said. “But things kept getting out of control [off set]. And as I got older, the drugs and alcohol became something I almost couldn’t live without.” Her addiction caused the demise of her relationship with fiancé Wladimir Klitschko and was the reason her daughter, Kaya, lives with her dad. “It was the hardest thing I ever had to do,” she said of letting her daughter live full-time with her ex. “But I wanted to be a good mom to her — and sometimes that means letting them go.” Rock bottom came when she was hospitalized for jaundice. “Doctors told me my liver was going to give out,” she said. “I was no longer a 20-year-old who could just bounce right back.”

Joe Rogan trended this week (again) after making comments about Donald Trump — and to the surprise of many, the famous podcaster is not a fan of the ex-POTUS. “I’m not a Trump supporter in any way, shape or form,” he said on Lex Fridman’s podcast episode that was released on July 4. “I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once — I’ve said no, every time. I don’t want to help him. I’m not interested in helping him.” Joe has previously stated that he supports Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for the 2024 republican nomination for president. “The Trump era is also going to be one of the weirder times,” Joe said. “When people look back historically about the division in this country, he’s such a polarizing figure that so many people felt like they could abandon their own ethics and morals and principles just to attack him and anybody who supports him because he is an existential threat to democracy itself.”

A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far,” the SpaceX CEO tweeted. “Mark my words, they are sadly true.” The father of 10 then joked, “Maybe Tesla should make a highly configurable Robovan for people & cargo?” Business Insider broke the news, saying the duo filed a petition to change the twins’ names in order to “have their father’s last name and contain their mother’s last name as part of their middle name.”

Brad Pitt says she suffers from face blindness and that it has affected his relationships — even with his family. The actor has not been officially diagnosed with face blindness, also known as prosopagnosia, which causes him to not remember people’s faces. “Nobody believes me!” he told GQ in a new cover story that came out on June 22 but picked up steam this week. “I wanna meet another [person with it].” Brad said he means no disrespect when he can’t remember people and he fears that prosopagnosia makes him come off as aloof.
