Snoochie Shy, 29, has detailed the events that transpired when her campmate Richard Madeley had to be rushed to A&E in the early hours of the morning. Richard, 65, was forced to quit I’m A Celebrity early after being struck down by a “medical emergency”.

BBC Radio 1 Xtra DJ Snoochie was voted out of the camp two nights ago and has since spoken out about her fears when Richard became suddenly ill.

The GMB presenter had finally joined Main Camp in Gwrych Castle just hours before he was forced to quit the show.

Richard had formerly been struggling in The Clink, a Middle Ages-inspired prison, alongside campmates Naughty Boy, David Ginola, Danny Miller and Dame Arlene Phillips.

However, just as it seemed things were looking up for the star, who is one half of ITV’s iconic Richard and Judy presenting duo alongside wife Judy Finnigan, he had to be taken to hospital after falling ill in the night.

Unfortunately, once he had left the show’s Covid bubble, ITV bosses would not allow him to re-enter, despite getting a clean bill of health.

Snoochie has now revealed that Richard’s fellow campmates were “very worried” about the star at the time.

After becoming the fourth celeb to leave camp, she explained how producers ushered the campmates out of the bedroom so that medics could attend to Richard.

“In the middle of night, he just got ill, and then we was all told to just go to the campfire room, and then he just left, really,” she told The Sun.

“I think we was definitely worried. Obviously, he’s our camp mate. And I know that obviously he was at The Clink so we only had, in the main camp, 24 hours of him.

“But you bond with people very quickly. So of course, we was very, very worried, that we didn’t know what was going on.”

“But then when we got the video message from him, I’m pretty sure the majority of us cried.

“But he seemed like he was in good spirits, as well. So it was really nice to have that video message, just because we had been worrying a lot.”

“It’s man like Rich. That’s what I used to call him, man like Rich. When we saw this guy, he was just really nice, and it made us feel good to know that he was all right.”

Richard, who exited camp on November 25, left behind a sweet video message for his fellow campmates to watch on a tablet device.

He told them: “I had to come out into the Covid world and I can’t risk bringing the bug back in with me and ruining the experience for you guys and the programme and the viewers.

“So that’s it. My adventure’s over and I just want to say how much I love you and you know I mean that and how much I’m grateful to you for everything you’ve said and done for me over the past few days.

“And I’m going to set up that whatsapp group we all spoke about and when you come out we can all talk to each other again and then hopefully meet up for a few of those,” he continued making a drinking gesture.

“Anyway, I’ll be watching over the next few weeks and I wish you all the love and luck in the world. I can’t wait to see who wins.”

Last night, DJ and music producer Naughty Boy became the latest celebrity to leave the camp.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
