Is 'Big Shot' John Stamos' First Series With Disney and Disney+?

John Stamos is the owner of a Disneyland sign and is an unapologetic fan of the Disney theme parks. He even visited Walt Disney World with Full House before his appearance on the Disney+ original series, Big Shot.

Here’s what we know about this actor and his relationship with Walt Disney Studios.

John Stamos stars in the Disney+ original series, ‘Big Shot’

He’s a Disney fan, and now, he’s the star of the Disney+ original series, titled Big Shot. In this show, the actor appeared as a recently fired basketball coach. He went from winning NCAA Division I games to coaching an elite all-girls private high school. Episodes of this series debut weekly on Disney’s streaming platform.

This, technically, wouldn’t be the first Disney project of this actor. Jeff Franklin created Full House for ABC. This television network was acquired by Walt Disney Studios, making it one of Stamos’ first projects with the company.

‘Full House’ is, technically, a Disney-owned original series

Before his role in Big Shot, Stamos starred in the sitcom Full House as Uncle Jesse. He then returned for the Netflix original spinoff, Fuller House, as the same character.

For two episodes of the original series, the actor even traveled the Disney World and performed in front of Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle. Disney technically has ownership over ABC and its shows like Full House.

However, this series is not available for streaming on Disney+. Not yet, anyway. This wouldn’t be the only ABC comedy series available for streaming on Hulu. Most episodes of Modern Family, where cast members also traveled to a Disney theme park, are available on the rival streaming service.

John Stamos is a huge fan of Disney and the theme park, Disneyland

Outside of his acting life, Stamos is a huge Disney nerd who even traveled to Walt Disney World for American Idol. He owns several pieces of Disney history, including an audio-animatronic head from the Pirates of the Caribbean and a Disneyland sign.

“Honestly — and people would say, ‘you have so many better things’ — but I want a doom buggy from Haunted Mansion,” Stamos said during an interview with Esquire regarding his impressive Disney memorabilia collection. “Look, I started collecting this stuff 15, 20 years ago. Because I grew up near Disneyland.”

“I said, ‘I want to collect stuff.’ And there was an auction, right when eBay started, and the first thing on there was the Disneyland sign,” he continued. “I got that on accident, and then I started from there. It’s been a fun thing to do.”

New episodes of Big Shot are available for streaming exclusively on Disney+. To learn more about this streaming service and to subscribe, visit their website.
