How to put a fashion model in the shade: Gigi and Bella Hadid are dressed as pieces of furniture as Italian designers Moschino draw inspiration from a lamp, chest of drawers and a grandfather clock
Telling a catwalk supermodel that she resembles a lampstand might – in normal circumstances – easily see the observer having their lights knocked out.
But not, it seems, at Milan Fashion Week where a show from Italian designers Moschino brought furniture to life.
Among the items inspiring Moschino were a lamp, a chest of drawers and a grandfather clock.

Model Gigi Hadid, 26, wore a bronze dress that resembled a chest of drawers and earrings with keys attached to them.
Her sister Bella, 25, appeared in a black dress with a keyhole-shaped cutaway panel on her chest lined with detailed gold stitching.
Another model wore a blue flowery dress with a lampshade on her head.
Others walked in a grandfather clock dress, a gold frock with a harp attached and an outfit made from a Persian rug.
The outfits were likened to the Beauty and the Beast film, in which furniture comes to life. Moschino creative director, Jeremy Scott, 46, said: ‘It’s all the things you’d find in an old money mansion. The wealth, the gilt, the Louis XIV dressers…’
To add to the surreal experience, the set of the fashion show was based on the 1968 Stanley Kubrick film 2001: A Space Odyssey.
