Jacqueline Jossa has reached out to her fans for advice to curb her “excruciating” period pain which has worsened since she gave birth to her daughter Mia.
The mother-of-two, 28, has shared her painful period symptoms despite having the copper coil.
The former EastEnders actress, who recently celebrated her daughter's third birthday, has asked what other options are available for her to reduce her pain during her time of the month because she doesn’t want to “bother the doctors.”
In a brief video on her Instagram story, Jac told her 3.2 million followers how she could barely keep her “swollen” eyes open from the hormonal pain on Tuesday.
She said: “I feel like crap today. It’s that horrible week in the month that I feel rough. My eyes feel swollen, I can’t keep them open, I’m in a lot of pain.”
To help her feel a little bit better in herself, Jac told her followers how she has planned a self-care night to help relax herself both physically and mentally.
The I’m A Celeb winner added: “I’m gonna do a little bit of fake tan, some self-care tonight just to try and make myself feel better.
“I’m gonna do it before the football and then I'm gonna try and watch it, try and get into it. I bought a flag so …."
The doting wife, who recently gave a tour of her newly renovated garden, tried to make light of her condition as she whispered: “I’m gonna try and just really keep doing s**t so that I’m not feeling like rubbish because it only lasts a few days and then she’s back.”
But less than six hours later, Jacqueline couldn’t bear the pain much longer and asked her loyal legion of fans for any contraceptive advice that would help lessen the pain late on Tuesday evening.
In a plea for some pain relief and a long-term solution, the TV star opened up about her struggles with contraception in the past and her experience with the various methods she has tried.
Despite the regular pain she suffers, the actress told her fans that she doesn’t want to go back to using the contraceptive pill which is known to ease cramps during menstrual cycles.
She wrote: “The excruciating pain I am in every months with my period recently is so bad.
“I don’t want to bother the doctors as I know it’s going to be either, go back on the pill (really don’t want to do that, my body doesn’t do well with the hormones pumping through).”
Currently Jac is using the copper coil, which is a small T-shaped intrauterine device which is inserted into the womb and protects against pregnancy for between five to ten years.
The copper coil, if inserted correctly, is more than 99% effective by releasing copper into the womb which makes it difficult for contraception to occur.
According to the NHS, periods can be heavier, longer or more painful in the first three to six months after insertion but should improve after such time.
Jac, who shares daughters Ella, six, and Mia, three, with her husband Dan Osborne, 29, added that her period pains have become significantly worse since she gave birth to her youngest Mia.
She continued: “I have the copper coil in and it’s been since then really for 3 years since Mia really, they have been so bad, getting worse recently.
“Is there other options? I don’t want to have nothing and follow an app. This is tooo scary for my unplanned life lol.”
The former soap star is cautious to ditching contraception all together and doesn’t trust “following an app”, which requires the user to input weekly data to track the cycle efficiently, because her family and work like is too hectic.
She added: “Being a lady is so unfair. I don’t usually talk about this stuff but I’m in such pain and it ruins me for a few days. Honestly, it’s so bad.”
