James Argent’s worried pals call 999 as ambulance rushes to star’s home

Friends of TOWIE star James Argent called an ambulance to rush over to his Essex home after getting worried when they couldn't get ahold of the star, The Sun has reported.

The 34 year old turned his life around in the last year after dropping 13 stone following a gastric sleeve surgery in 2021.

However, according to the publication, pals of he star were left concerned when they weren't able to reach him.

"James has been doing so well, but the drastic change to his lifestyle has had pressures of its own and can be tough," a source shared. "Unfortunately it happened on a day when he was feeling low and an ambulance had to be called.

"He is changing his number again and is now focusing on surrounding himself with the right people who support him in his new healthy lifestyle.”

James was reportedly assessed by paramedics and did not need to go to hospital. He was able to remain at home.

OK! Online has approached James' representatives for further comment.

Back in 2019, James was rushed to hospital twice in two months after fears he had suffered a drug overdose. He then was said to have checked himself into rehab in Thailand early the following year. At the time, he praised Gemma Collins for her "tough love" approach.

When the world went into lockdown amid the Covid-19 pandemic, James gained 26 stone – replacing his drug addiction with food.

Since then, he's undergone a gastric sleeve surgery and overhauled his lifestyle to become fit and healthy.

"It's another thing, it's the effect that you have on your family, your friends and when I’m in an active addiction it’s all a bit of a blur to me. I escape my feelings and my emotions and if I’m suffering with pain, I’m using the drugs and the alcohol to cover it up.

"My family, they had to deal with it day to day and it is difficult because my mum wanted to talk to people but there was constantly people selling stories on me and my mum didn’t want to discuss my private business with too many people because she was worried people would run stories.

"She didn’t know who to trust and who to turn to and it was just a nightmare.”
