James Bond fans work out Daniel Craigs replacement as GOT star drops clue

James Bond fans are 'stirring' after some have suggested the upcoming 'shake' up of the franchise could see Richard Madden don the famous white tuxedo.

The actor, 36, is best known for his role as Robb Stark in Game of Thrones and has been among the favourites in the race to be the next 007 ever since Daniel Craig called time on his stint as the British secret agent.

Other actors touted for the job include Happy Valley’s James Norton and Bridgerton’s Rege-Jean Page.

But it's the 36 year old Scottish star who is seemingly entertaining the rumours. On Friday (April 28) he posted a video to Instagram of him enjoying a drink with his Citadel co-star Stanley Tucci.

But this wasn't just any drink they were martinis.

In the video, Stanley, 62, turns to Richard to ask for his thoughts on the drink but he only replies: "Delicious."

The video ends with Richard telling the audience: "Join us next week when we'll have some dialogue."

Given that James Bond’s drink of choice is the martini, fans are now convinced this is a major hint with some even suggesting Stanley could also be involved.

One wrote: "New Bond and Q?!"

Another said: "I don’t know what drinks look like, but if that’s Richard Madden drinking a Martini that’s been shaken, not stirred……imma hit the roof with excitement."

A third commented: "Love this hope your the new James bond and Stanley is your adversary! [sic]".

Meanwhile, others seemed more confused by the actors' "awkward" interaction.

"That is the most awkward martini I’ve seen in a long while," said one person, before another joked: "That’s a terrible martini audition for Bond."

As Stanley and Richard may be joining the franchise as 'Q' and Bond, elsewhere it's been reported that comedian Daisy May Cooper is being eyed as the next 'M'.

The role previously portrayed by Dame Judi Dench and Ralph Fiennes.

While Daisy may seem like an unlikely choice, the speculation about her bagging to high profile gig is linked to her friendship with writer and actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who helped pen the script for No Time To Die.
