Television personality Jane McDonald is known for her bubbly personality, often winning over the hearts of the nation. The singer and former Loose Women star has spoken of the breakdown of her second marriage to Henrik Brixen, who also worked as her manager.

Jane, 58, met her second husband met while the pair were working on a cruise ship — Jane as a singer and Henrik as a plumbing engineer.
The presenter had previously been married for one year, to her first husband Paul, between 1987 and 1988 before she soon fell head over heels in love with Henrik.
The happy couple went on to marry in 1998, with Henrik eventually becoming Jane’s manager after she found fame through the BBC programme, The Cruise.
Sadly, however, Jane’s marriage to Henrik broke down and they split in 2002, after he had left their marriage in order to save her career.
Speaking in her autobiography, Riding The Waves: My Story, published in 2019, Jane said: “Your manager is your boss and tells you what to do, what to wear and who to be, so our relationship changed.
“I loved him with all my heart, but felt he’d stopped looking at me as a wife, I became a product.”
The Wakefield, West Yorks, born star continued: “Eventually, I came to the devastating conclusion that I really did have nothing left.
“I told Henrik, ‘I’m firing you as my manager.’”
She had previously stated that Henrik had tried his “very best” but ultimately, he didn’t understand the music industry.
While their marriage may have ended, Jane admits that she won’t ever speak badly about her former husband as his decision was to save her career.
Jane revealed that during her popular Cruising With Jane McDonald series, it was pleasant to re-visit Fort Lauderdale, describing it as one of her favourite places.
Speaking to The People, Jane said: “I met Henrik, my ex-husband, in Fort Lauderdale, that is where we had our house and I have just got such great memories.”

The Dance Yourself Dizzy singer went on to add: “I know my marriage didn’t work out, but we had a good time while we were together.”
During her series, she also visited St Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, where she had married Henrik.
“I got married and it was a marvellous time, so it was great going back there and reminiscing a little bit,” she said.
Following their split in 2002, Jane later went on to meet her teenage sweet heart, Walter ‘Ed’ Rothe.
Jane and Ed had dated for several months during their youth while she worked behind the bar at The Pussycat Club in her hometown.
The singer famously covered Ed’s hit Dance Yourself Dizzy, from his time drumming in the band Liquid Gold.
Jane and Ed went on to get engaged over Christmas in 2008, with Ed saying at the time, he should have proposed 26-years prior to their engagement.
Sadly, Ed passed away in April after secretly battling lung cancer.
