Janette Manrara, 38, has said that she had a “very emotional” last dance when bidding farewell to Strictly Come Dancing. The star has explained that she wanted to say goodbye to the “special” Strictly dancefloor in a memorable way.

Janette talked about her last dance on Strictly alongside Harvey Leigh Cantwell, also known as HRVY.

She said that it was “particularly emotional” for her, with it being her final dance before the end of the series.

Speaking on Lorraine, she then opened up about dancing with her husband Aljaz Skorjanec as well.

She said: “Yes it was (very emotional).

“Obviously my last ever dance was with HRVY. With those gold sequin tail suits.”

Janette Manrara recently became the host of Strictly spin-off show, It Takes Two.

The star said that she begged the producers of Strictly to give her one last dance.

Janette said: “I begged the producers the whole series, ‘Just give me one last dance!’

“I just wanted one last moment to say goodbye to that floor because it’s such a special dancefloor.”

She added that the producers called her on her birthday to tell her that her husband Aljaz and her would be dancing together with Ed Sheeran.

“They called me on my birthday to tell me that Aljaz and I would be dancing together with Ed Sheeran.

“What a gift,” the dancer added.

Aljaz chimed in, explaining that the last dance was one of the most “beautiful moments” of the whole show for the pair.

The two both agreed that performing the dance itself was “very emotional.”

Aljaz said: “We had one take it, it was ‘go!’ and it was one of the most beautiful moments.

“Especially because, prior to that, we really haven’t danced together in so long.

“And that’s why I can’t wait to get back.”

The dancer opened up in June last year when talking to Hello Magazine, about how It Takes Two is her “dream role”.

She said: “It’s a dream come true to become part of the It Takes Two team!

“Although it’s impossible to fill in the shoes of a legend like Zoe Ball, I hope to make her and all of the Strictly fans proud.

“I will miss dancing on that iconic dance floor weekly, but forever grateful to continue being a part of the Strictly Come Dancing family!”
