Jason Manford, 40, has addressed a flippant claim that he has booked no television gigs for this year. The comedian reacted to a message from a Twitter user today, after he announced his tour was about to kick off again this month.

Jason’s announcement read: “My tour kicks off again January 13th & runs till Nov 10th.

“I’ll no doubt be coming to a venue near you. Check the map on my website for details.”

CorrStevecorr responded: “Wow long tour – no TV work this year.”

In view of his 400,000 followers, Jason explained: “Starstruck starts end of January on ITV & Unbeatable back in the summer.

“Other bits and bobs popping up too.

“The Greatest Show: Musicals will be on telly at some point in the year too.”(sic)

The actor and presenter then signed off the tweet with a thumbs up emoji.

Jason’s fans were overjoyed to find out about his other performances, with one person pointing out he was “everywhere”.

heathermarie_87 asked: “Do you have an exact date for Starstruck? I was in the audience for a few of the episodes so I’m excited to watch it all again.”

patwilcox07 wrote: “Looking forward to seeing you soon on TV.”

JoPhilpott11 added: “You are everywhere and that certainly isn’t a complaint.”

Jason has previously been outspoken in his social media interactions about his work.

Last month he called out a critic who complained about his content during one of his latest shows.

The comedian had been accused of being “bigoted”, over his Covid comedy content.

Jason responded to a news article where he was branded “bigoted” after talking about anti-maskers in the Live at the Apollo Christmas special.

He wrote the caption: “Keep complaining folks… the more you do, the more people watch it! Lovely stuff.”

Seanc1976 wrote in response: “‘Jokes’. So stunning and brave to talk about a virus that we’ve heard nothing else for 2 years. A+ material. George Carlin certainly isn’t.”

Jason responded: “Haha f*****g comedy expert over here!

“The biggest thing to happen in our lifetime, I’m pretty sure it’s exactly what George Carlin would be talking about and people like you would be the butt.”(sic)

The comedian has since deleted the tweet.
