Jessie J has revealed the name of her baby boy by posting an adorable snap of the little man.
The 35 year old Price Tag singer welcomed her first child with pro basketballer boyfriend Chanan Safir Coleman in May. Since then, she has been sharing sweet updates of the baby’s progress with her fans on social media.
And she has finally taken to Instagram to announce his name – having kept it under wraps for her first few weeks of motherhood. Alongside a cute snap of the little one, she wrote: “Mans like…Sky Safir Cornish Colman.”
After Jessie revealed the couple had called their son Sky, fans rushed to the comment section to praise the name. One wrote: “Perfect name for a perfect boy.”
A second added: “What a beautiful name.” Another posted: 'The most beautiful baby. Welcome to the family Sky.'
According to pregnancy and parenting website The Bump, Sky stems from the old Norse word meaning "cloud”. The name was adapted into the English tongue, where it refers to the "atmosphere seen from Earth."
Safir, meanwhile, has multiple Islamic meanings. The name originates from Arabic and has a can mean mediator or ambassador.
This week Jessie shared a topless snap to Instagram – taken 11 days after giving birth to her Sky – as she celebrated her post-baby body. She posted a message of body positivity to her 13.3million Instagram followers on Thursday by posting the candid black and white snap, which showed off a still-visible bump after Sky was born.
Jessie accompanied the snap with a lengthy caption, which read: "I’m writing this for myself as well as any one else that needs to read this. Your body was a home for someone else to live in for 9 months.
"Your organs have moved and need to find their way back to where they were before. Your uterus is still deflating slowly.
"Your hormones are flying and crashing. Your body is working the hardest it has ever worked. You are exhausted but you are magical.
"You grew a whole human. A human who is doing this with you and loves you beyond measure. Take your time.
"Be easy on yourself, your body AND your mind.
The caption continued by encouraging herself to remember she ws in recovery and to celebrate her new body.
She added: “It HAD to change. It will be bigger and smaller in different places. IT IS BEAUTIFUL and NATURAL.
"Ignore the whispers of what some people say you should or shouldn’t look like after a certain time. It’s 2023. People need to chill.
"It’s your journey. Your time and YOUR body. It’s not the same as anyone else’s, and that’s what makes it special. You are unique.”
