Jesy Nelson is reportedly a favourite of Simon Cowell’s to become a judge on The X Factor when the show relaunches.

Former Little Mix singer Jesy, 29, is said to have the potential to “breathe a bit of new life” on the ITV talent show, after the 2020 series was cancelled.

After announcing her decision to leave Little Mix, Jesy has shared photos and videos of herself in the studio as she appears to work on her solo music career.

But now it seems the stunning singer, who recently admitted she mentally bullied and starved herself, could also turn her hand to television as it’s been rumoured she could become a new judge on The X Factor, where Jesy initially found fame as part of Little Mix.

A source told The Sun Online: “It’s a no brainer for Simon to have someone as successful as Jesy, who the show made, back on the panel.

“She knows the ups and downs of the music industry inside out, and what it takes to be a successful popstar.

“Her name has been banded around by Simon and his team as someone who could breathe a bit of new life into the show when it’s back next year.”

It’s been reported the series will not return until 2022 as ITV bosses are said to have decided to give the show’s regular annual format a break for at least 12 months.

Meanwhile, it has also been claimed that Jesy’s new management have big plans for her solo career.

The source added: “They’re drawing up huge plans for Jesy at YMU.

“They not only want her to do great things in music as a solo artist, but they think she has the potential to become the darling of entertainment telly.

“She could easily fill, and go beyond, the void left by someone like Cheryl Tweedy and is arguably more relevant to audiences now.

“She’s got a huge following with the demographics that TV bosses are obsessed with.”

It comes after Jesy denied working on Christmas songs after fans spotted what they thought was a clue as she shared a video of herself in the studio.

A video, which showed herself jamming in the company of producers Patrick Jordan-Patrikios and Sunny, unveiled a small whiteboard leaning against the wall in the far corner.

Eagle-eyed fans managed to pause the clip in the right moment to find out that someone had written "Christmas songs/album" and "TV, film library album" as well as genres such as "pop", "indie" and "epic" on it.

Over this, Jesy had written: "This shouldn't be called work [emoji of monkey covering it's eyes] the leg [crying with laughter emoji] @iam_sunny_music @patrickpatrikios".

After being inundated by messages from fans who thought they'd cracked the code to her upcoming projects, Jesy had no choice but to explain that the whiteboard was for an entirely different musician.

Over a black background, she wrote: "The white board has nothing to do with me guys," [sic] followed by an emoji of a monkey covering its eyes.
