Job Prince William has at King’s Coronation that other royals have been banned from doing

King Charles' Coronation promises to be vastly slimmed down in comparison to Queen Elizabeth's three-hour ceremony in 1953, with a number of key moments and roles for senior royals having been written out.

One of the most notable moments to be altered is the official homage by the Royal Dukes to the sovereign. The removal of the ceremonial position during the ancient service affects the likes of Prince Harry and Prince Andrew and leaves just Prince William fulfilling the role.

A palace source previously revealed to The Sunday Times that Prince Harry will have no official role within his father's coronation on May 6.

They told the paper: "Prince Harry has been written out of the script for the Coronation, with no official role in the service if he attends. Breaking with tradition, Charles will scrap royal dukes kneeling and paying homage to the monarch. Only William will perform that role. As things stand, there is no role for Harry in the service."

The decision is in-keeping with His Majesty's desire to shorten the historic service which previously lasted an incredible three hours when his mother was crowned 70 years ago.

Other royal Duke's who will no longer carry out the duty of kneeling, touching the crown and kissing the sovereign include The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, The Duke of Gloucester and the 87-year-old Duke of Kent.

After the Dukes have paid homage, a senior representative from each rank (non-royal Dukes, Marquesses, Earls, Viscounts and Barons) would do the same.

Joining The King, The Queen and The Prince of Wales in the Nave of Westminster Abbey will be Prince George who is one of his grandfather's Pages of Honour.

Buckingham Palace revealed that Prince George will have a crucial role to play in the service itself as he will be one of his grandfather's Pages of Honour.

His Majesty will be attended by Prince George, Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, Nicholas Barclay and Ralph Tollemache and The Queen Consort will have her three grandsons, Gus and Louis Lopes and Freddy Parker Bowles, as well as her great-nephew, Arthur Elliot, by her side.
