The Scottish actress, who co-stars with the British actor in ‘The Brutalist’, is accused of liking posts about Joe and Taylor Swift’s breakup sharing a photo dump from the set.
AceShowbiz –Emma Laird has seemingly unwittingly rubbed salt into Swifties’ wound with her latest Instagram post. The actress has been attacked Taylor Swift‘s fans after posting a photo of Joe Alwyn in the wake of the actor’s breakup with the singer/songwriter.
On Tuesday, April 11, the Scottish actress took to her social media page to share a photo dumb from the set of upcoming movie “The Brutalist“, in which she co-stars with Joe. One of the images features the “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk” star riding a scooter with a smile on his face. “Moments in March,” she simply captioned it, adding a red heart emoji.
While Emma’s post was not solely dedicated to Joe, many were not happy that she included the actor on her social media content. She was soon inundated with negative comments, prompting her to turn off the comments on the post.
Not to be deterred, some of the trolls then moved to the “Mayor of Kingstown” star’s earlier posts to express their dismay. “We know you’ve been liking posts about taylor and joe’s breakup,” someone wrote. “There’s no way she didn’t know what she was doing,” another claimed, while another used Taylor’s song to express their feelings, “Alexa play better than revenge.”
Some other Swifties, meanwhile, have apologized on behalf of the fandom and reminded the trolls about the similar and unwarranted online abuse that Taylor endured in the past. “As a swiftie… I do NOT claim the mean swifties in these comments,” one wrote with a clown and red-flag emoji.
A second agreed and defended Emma as saying, “Y’all need to turn this energy into crafts and make some friendship bracelets. The Swiftie fandom is not built on hate and bullying. Leave this poor girl alone.”
“The Brutalist”, which began filming in Hungary in March, also stars Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones and Guy Pearce. Meanwhile, Taylor has been on the road for her sold-out “The Eras Tour”, which will continue this weekend with three consecutive shows at NRG Stadium in Houston.
