But ahead of the final episode, Jon Snow’s colleague, journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy, has taken to Twitter to share that he won’t be in attendance of his pal’s last taping. Krishnan, who mentioned being “on the other side of the world”, posted a lengthy thread on his social media page where he thanked Jon for all he’s done for aspiring journalists and news anchors, before insisting that the 74-year-old is “a great man”.

“Can’t quite believe tonight is the last #C4News anchored by @jonsnowC4 – who would require a very long thread to properly do justice to,” he tweeted to his 635,000 followers.
“He’s an extraordinary human being, who’s been there at some of the most amazing moments of history. (1).”
Krishnan added: “He’s always been the most energetic, enthusiastic, committed and questioning TV journalist – who has brought compassion and humanity to his reporting wherever he goes.
“Viewers love him. And even those politicians who disagree and get angry with him respect him. (2).”
“These photos are amusingly misleading but I like them.”
Krishnan went on to share a string of throwback photos of him and Jon throughout the years, including one snap where the pair appear to be enjoying a karaoke night.
The Liverpool local went on to plug the forthcoming episode of his podcast Ways To Change The World, where Jon will join him as a guest speaker as they discuss the latter’s career highlights and what led him to pursue a career in news.
Fans were quick to leave their reactions in the comment section, with many still in shock over the thought of no longer seeing Jon helm the news programme.
Moving forward, his involvement will mainly focus on “longer-form projects”.
Jon will also set his attention on “his charities and some of his many passions in life, peoples’ stories, inequality, Africa, Iran and the arts”.
Jon’s statement read: “Together, we have forged a wonderful service.
“I feel proud to have contributed to Channel 4 News let alone to have anchored the programme for the last 32 years. I’m looking forward to new adventures and new challenges.”
