Jonnie Irwin shares summer plans as he bravely battles terminal cancer

A Place in the Sun legend Jonnie Irwin, 49, has opened up about his summer plans in view of his 160,000 Instagram followers.

The Escape to the Country presenter bravely opened up about his terminal cancer diagnosis last year and has been continuing to make the most of every day as he shares updates with his fans on social media.

Jonnie posted a picture of the lineup for Lindisfarne Festival this year, which is a musical festival running from August 31 to September 3.

The event, which takes place at Beal Farm, Northumberland, is close to the coast overlooking the famous Lindisfarne Island.

Headliners include Primal Scream and Pendulum, while live comedy and wellness treatments are also on offer.

Jonnie captioned the promotional poster: “Went to this last year and had a great time.

“Praying for good weather – Rex is probably just praying for more sugar! #lindisfarnefestival.”

Jonnie shares his son Rex, three, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac with his wife Jessica Holmes, whom he married in 2016.

Last year, Jonnie bravely revealed his terminal diagnosis, sharing that he doesn’t know how long he has left to live after his lung cancer sadly spread to his brain.

The star’s fans took to the comments section to share their well-wishes to the presenter after he shared his exciting plans for the summer.

“Have the most fabulous time come rain or shine,” wrote Wendy. “Make memories and spread a smile.”

Louise penned: “It’s a great festival even for those who aren’t hardened festival goers like me – the vibe is great.”

“You are making sweet memories,” wrote Courtney, while Claire added: “Sending you and your lovely family big hugs. Great you are living in the moment with them.”

“Go for it Jonnie bet the boys will love it, have a great time,” penned Mary. (sic)

“Have a wonderful time Jonnie with your family, keep well,” Anne added.
