Julia Fox is clearing up some rumours on social media, with one a little more bizarre than the other.
The Uncut Gems actress has been sharply in the spotlight in recent months since hooking up with Kanye West at the start of the year following his split with Kim Kardashian.
While their whirlwind romance came to an end last week, for the brief time they were together fans were given front-row seats to the relationship via a whole host of photo opportunities, interviews and major PDAs.
When their relationship ended – amid Kanye publicly begging for ex-wife Kim back on social media – Julia issued a statement insisting the pair were on good terms.
She hinted that fans would have to ‘buy the book’ for the full story.
Now the actress and model has clarified that she is not writing a book about Kanye, ‘not will I ever’.
‘When I said “you’re going to have to buy the book” I was referring to a book I’ve been writing for the past year that I’ve spoken about many times,’ she wrote on her Instagram story.
She also added: ‘Just for the record. I have never used the term “goblin mode”.’
You might be thinking: What in the name of God is this sentence supposed to mean?
Well, the story is about as chaotic as the sentence itself.
Last week, as Kanye was posting a series of messages to Instagram about Kim and her new boyfriend Pete Davidson before promptly deleting them, Twitter user @meowmeowmeuw joked that they couldn’t tell if screenshots appearing on social media were real things Kanye had said or if they were memes.
To prove their point, they shared an edited news headline with a fake quote from Julia saying her relationship with Kanye was ‘difficult’ because ‘He didn’t like when I went goblin mode’.
The post went viral – and a lot of people thought it was real.
So many, in fact, that the Twitter user who posted it noted that it was ‘incredibly easy to create fake news’.
In other chaotic news, the actress recently reacted to her pronunciation of the film ‘Uncut Gems’ which went viral after she pronounced it, well, like ‘uncu jaaaahms’.
Page Six shared a compilation of punters saying Uncut Gems in this special, Julia Fox way, writing on Instagram on Thursday: ‘TikTokers are jumping to impersonate this #JuliaFox interview…and we can’t stop watching.’
Little did they know Julia was lurking on the page and noticed the meme, sharing: ‘Omggggg I was stoned leave me alone!!!! Hahahahahah 😂😂😂’.
Which, in fairness, explains a lot.
