Julian Clary, 62, has expressed his view on Strictly Come Dancing, after reaching the final in 2004. The comedian claimed he was in the finale because he “wasn’t very good”.
They’ve sussed a way to control it.

Julian took part in Strictly 17 years ago, and was paired with Erin Boag.
The pair made it to third place, despite him claiming he was not very good.
Speaking to The Times, Julian spilled his views on the famous BBC dancing show.
He said: “It was all done on the public vote then and I don’t think they wanted me in the final.
“I wasn’t very good.
“There were better dancers than me.”
He added: “Now they have the dance-off thing. They’ve sussed a way to control it.”
The Strictly scoring system, according to the BBC, combines judges and viewers’ votes.
No contestant is saved just due to the judges, they need the approval of the viewers also.
This means each week any couple can face the dance off, due to the public vote.
Other celebrities on the show Julian’s year included Carol Vorderman, Aled Jones and Denise Lewis.
Actress Jill Halfpenny took the Glitterball with her partner Darren Bennett.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph in 2015, Julian insisted there should be same-sex couples on Strictly.
At the time, Julian said: “I think it would be fun, first of all, to watch a same-sex couple dancing.
“I’m aware that there are difficulties with the lifts and the mechanics of the dancing. But there are gay ballroom dancing clubs around the country, so they’ve found a way to make it work.”
He added: “And apart from anything else it would be entertaining for us all to watch and tut about.”
The first same-sex couple did not come to Strictly until 2020 with Katya Jones and Olympian Nicola Adams.
However, unfortunately on November 12, 2020 the pair were forced to withdraw from the competition after Katya tested positive for Covid.
The first same sex male couple happened in this year’s edition of the dance show with John Whaite and Johannes Radebe.
John and Johannes quickly emerged as frontrunners for the Glitterball trophy when the show returned to our screens earlier this year.
Last Saturday’s performance saw the pair take on a quick step to Bad Moon Rising dressed as werewolves.
