Kanye West Settles His Beef With Adidas, Names Gap as the Next Target

In a new Instagram post, the ‘Donda’ artist insinuates that he has settled his feud with the footwear brand while noting that he will deal with Gap next.

AceShowbiz -The tension between Kanye West and Adidas has been over. In a new Instagram post, the Yeezy designer insinuates that he has settled his feud with the footwear brand while noting that he will deal with Gap next.

On Monday, September 5, Ye shared on Instagram Story a screenshot of his note. It read, “I COULD HEAR THE JOY IN MY TEAMS VOICE TODAY.” The “Gold Digger” rapper continued, “ADIDAS DON’T WANT NO MORE SMOKE. THE MOVIE CREDIT’S ARE ROLLING. THIS WAR WASN’T ABOUT MONEY. IT WAS ABOUT CONTROL OF OUR FAMILIES, OF OUR BUSINESS, OF OUR STORY, OF OUR VOICE.”

In the post, the “Donda” artist said that he gave Adidas “THE OPPORTUNITY TO SETTLE THIS QUIETLY.” After he managed to squash their beef with Adidas, Ye announced, “NOW IT’S TIME FOR GAP…. : )”

Ye’s post arrived amid his war of words aimed at Adidas executives. Hours prior, the 45-year-old rapper/designer claimed on Instagram that he needed to buy his own major shoe company in order to be the chief decision maker. “I NEED A SHOE COMPANY LIKE HOW JAMIE SALTER BOUGHT REEBOK. OR ILL TAKE OVER SOME SHOE FACTORIES,” he wrote earlier on Monday.

He went on to say that he went to JP Morgan to inquire about an acquisition, but managing director and vice chairman of investment banking, Jing Ulrich, is on the board of Adidas. “I’VE WENT TO JP MORGAN BUT OF COURSE THEY WON’T GIVE ME NO DEAL FLOW CAUSE JIN ULRICH IS ON THE BOARD OF BOTH ADIDAS AND JP MORGAN,” he wrote. In the caption, meanwhile, Ye penned, “My mama was an English professor and I was an English major I know how to speak correct English but I’m here to correct the English.”

He also taunted Adidas CEO Kasper Rorsted by declaring that he is “dead” with a fake newspaper headline. He posted on September 1 a front-page newspaper headline that read, “Kasper Rorsted Also Dead at 60.” At the bottom of the paper, it read, “I know what you’re thinking…who is Kasper? but even less importantly who is Kid Cudi?” Ye added in the caption, “I’m not here to be liked I’d don’t like it leave.”

Back in August, Ye noted in a direct message to Complex’s Instagram that “Adidas made up the Yeezy Day idea without my approval.” He went on to say the brand also reissued older Adidas Yeezy styles, designed Yeezy colorways and hired employees for the line all without his approval.

Ye additionally called out both Gap and Adidas for copying his designs. “How to create and Angry ye,” he began. “If you are Adidas or Gap take the objects made in collaboration with Kanye, respectively the Yeezy Slide and Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga Tee and make something similar .. that’s it! You too now have your Angry Kanye.”
