Karren Brady, 52, has weighed in on the use of cosmetic procedures and how supermodel Linda Evangelista’s case is “proof” they do not always work. The television personality admitted to having had “tweakments” done over the years, but also revealed she often questions why she is undergoing such procedures.
Speaking of Linda’s experience with CoolSculpting, Karren wrote: “The cause of her misery was a rare reaction to CoolSculpting, a procedure that freezes and kills fat cells, which are then ejected from the body via the liver.
“Sounds disgusting, I know. But, full disclosure, I have had the treatment and, thankfully, had nothing but a good result.
“Immediately afterwards, the fat that has been frozen looks like a block of butter, which is slightly alarming.
“Mine went down and dispersed. But Linda seems to be saying hers has stayed firmly in place, leaving her ‘deformed’, she claims, and ‘permanently disfigured’.”
Karren admitted that CoolSculpting, as well as other cosmetic procedures she has undergone, have not been pleasant.
She added in an opinion piece for The Sun: “But it is easy to tell yourself the result will be worth it.”
The Apprentice star went on to stress that Linda has been “proof you can have treatment and not achieve the results you were looking for”.
Linda is now taking legal action after the allegedly botched treatment sent her into a “deep depression”.
The 56-year-old supermodel also claimed she sunk to the “lowest depths of self-loathing” over the last five years.
Last week, she took to Instagram to reveal her story in a post that she captioned: “#TheTruth #MyStory.”
In view of her 907,000 followers, the Canadian model wrote: “Today I took a big step towards righting a wrong that I have suffered and have kept to myself for over five years.
“To all my followers who have wondered why I have not been working while my peers’ careers have been thriving, the reason is that I was brutally disfigured by Zeltiq’s CoolSculpting procedure which did the opposite of what it promised.

“It increased, not decreased my fat cells and left me permanently deformed even after undergoing two painful, unsuccessful, corrective surgeries.
“I have been left, as the media has described, ‘unrecognizable’.”
Linda went on to explain her diagnosis, which she claimed “destroyed” her livelihood.
She continued: “I have developed Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia or PAH, a risk of which I was not made aware of before I had the procedures.
“PAH has not only destroyed my livelihood, it has sent me into a cycle of deep depression, profound sadness, and the lowest depths of self-loathing.
“In the process, I have become a recluse.”
“With this lawsuit, I am moving forward to rid myself of the shame, and going public with my story.
“I am so tired of living this way.”
