Karren Brady has shared her thoughts on the Queen’s dilemma after the monarch stripped Prince Andrew of his honorary military titles. It has since been reported that the Duke of York has been left devastated over Her Majesty’s decision.
The move comes after a US judge ruled in a civil case against Prince Andrew that it can go ahead after it was filed by Virginia Giuffre who has accused the royal of sexual assault when she was 17-years-old – claims he has consistently denied.
The Apprentice star has weighed into the debate and the furoure that surrounds the royals.
The 52-year-old admitted she felt “desperately sorry” for Her Majesty having to deal with this situation.
She explained that the Queen should be looking forward to her Platinum Jubilee.
Writing in her column for The Sun, Karren said that Prince Andrew had always been the Queen’s “favourite”.
But added that now, Her Majesty had no choice but to rethink Prince Andrew’s position.
The business guru said he was the “Navy hero” son who would entertain the royal with “bawdy tales of adventure on the high seas”.
Karren wrote: “But today he is an excruciating embarrassment. A podgy, pointless and prickly prince.
“The allegations against the Duke of York could not have come at a worse time as we navigate an ocean of woke views, still rocking in the wake of the Me Too movement.”
The columnist said it made matters worse that Prince Andrew had a friendship with Jeffrey Epstein and convicted child trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.
She went on: “And that is why the Queen has had to cut him loose.
“As head of the Royal Family, she has been forced to choose between saving the institution she has sworn to protect or shielding her second-born son.”
