Kate Garraway dodges the January blues in bright pink flares as she heads back to work

Kate Garraway doesn't look like she's succumbing to the January blues after the festive season, as she was seen in bright pink flares whilst heading back to work.

The 55 year old Good Morning Britain presenter was spotted making her way to the studios looking funky and fabulous in a pair of pink bellbottom jeans, which stayed tight to her leg before billowing out in a huge flare from the knees.

Mum of two Kate rocked a fluffy dark purple jacket over a matching polo neck and pink sparkly trainers to complete the look, as she clutched a coffee and her mobile phone to her chest.

The TV star was laden down with bags, carrying a satchel and a holdall bag across her body, whilst pulling on a small wheelie suitcase.

She went makeup-free for the outing – no doubt on her way to have it done professionally for her stint on TV – and she wore her golden-blonde hair in natural curls and a half-up, half-down 'do.

Kate recently shared that she was unable to attend the highly anticipated Princess of Wales' carol service alongside her 87 year old dad in December, but they were forced to cancel last-minute.

This was due to Kate rushing to hospital for a medical emergency, although she didn't confirm whether it was concerning her husband, Derek Draper, who has been in and out of medical facilities after contracting Covid-19 and suffering badly from the long-term effects.

Explaining the situation to viewers of Good Morning Britain, Kate said: "I was lucky enough to have an invite to [the carol service]. I got one last year and it's one of the most amazing things ever."

She went on: "It's just such a lovely atmosphere, and I was going to take my dad, who had been looking forward to it for so long, but unfortunately we ended up in the hospital with another crisis."

Despite ongoing concern over Derek's health issues, Kate made Christmas as normal as possible for their two children, Darcey, 16, and Billy, 13, as she took home a giant 6ft tree, for which she had plenty of help trying to squeeze into her car.

Next to photos of the different stages, Kate, 55, wrote: "So they say it takes a village to raise a child .. but how many does it take to "raise" a Christmas tree. Well in my case (altogether now sing along [musical note emojis]) … "5 exasperated shop workers, 4 helpful neighbours , 3 frazzled parents , 2 over excited kids & NOT a partridge in a pear tree , but a #peugeot308sw with a surprisingly large boot.

"Even my own mother didn't believe I could get a 6 foot tree in but I knew my Percy Peugeot wouldn't let me down!!"

Kate then said it was "worth it to see the kids happy".
