Kate Lawler has decided to take a break from social media after confessing that she finds some days difficult following the extension of her maternity leave.
The 40 year old radio presenter, who recently admitted that she has cried almost everyday since her daughter's birth, has been candid on social media about the difficulties of being a new mother.
In a new post on Instagram, the Big Brother winner, who welcomed daughter Noa with fiancé Martin in February, apologised to fans for her recent absence, and wrote: "Not every day is wonderful. Some days are tough. Sometimes I'm a bit sad and don't want to be all doom and gloom on your screen.
"I'll always come back though. Lots of love x."
Posting a photo of her baby in a Virgin Radio outfit, she recently thanked Virgin for extending her time away.
She said: "I thought it was a sufficient amount of time off but after the potato came along, time flew quicker than ever before and there was just no way I could have returned to work so soon.
"My boss asked if I was ready to come back after I’d extended my mat leave by 3 months and although I felt terribly guilty, I had to be honest with him and myself."
The pair came to an agreement that she would instead return on September 3, with Kate saying “a weight had been lifted.”
Kate has previously spoken about the guilt she felt for taking a shorter period of leave.
She said on an Instagram story: "I already regret not taking longer maternity leave. I wish I had taken proper time off everything,
"I'm going back to Virgin Radio in 3 weeks and on top the other work I do on here etc it's such an overwhelming feeling.
"I just don't want to leave Noa. I thought I'd feel different. I really did. Everyone tells me, 'once you're back at work you'll feel like you again'… did you?"
