Kate Middleton issues stark warning on addiction: ‘None of us are immune’

Kate Middleton has been photographed attending the launch of Forward Trust's "Taking Action on Addiction" campaign event.

The 39 year old, who recently sent fans into a frenzy with hopes of a collaboration with "US royalty", was seen looking gorgeous in a long-sleeved red dress with a flowing skirt paired with some nude heels on Tuesday 19 October.

Brunette beauty Kate styled her mane into loose waves and wore a full face of make up, including black eyeliner and mascara alongside a rose pink lipstick.

In Kate's speech, which was compered by fan-favourite TV presenters Ant and Dec, she spoke of the campaign, which will work to improve awareness and understanding of addiction.

The mum-of-three, who recently wowed with her deep auburn hair colour, spoke on the importance of tackling misinformation and misunderstanding surrounding addictions and its roots in early childhood experiences.

She said: "Addiction is not a choice. No-one chooses to become an addict. But it can happen to any one of us. None of us are immune.

"Yet it’s all too rarely discussed as a serious mental health condition. And seldom do we take the time to uncover and fully understand its fundamental root causes.

"The journey towards addiction is often multi-layered and complex. But, by recognising what lies beneath addiction, we can help remove the taboo and shame that sadly surrounds it."

The royal, who is patron of the Forward Trust, went on to meet beneficiaries of the foundation as well as several supporters to hear about their stories on living with addiction.

It comes after it was recently revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge apparently has the perfect trick to avoid being asked personal questions.

Kate recently attended the James Bond premier in London, where she met actor Rami Malek, who stars as evil villain Safin in the film.

Rami wasn't overly starstruck however, having met The Duchess before, at the BAFTAs in 2019.

He recalled the pair's first meeting on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as he spoke of Kate's ease at deflecting questions about her personal life.

Rami said on the show: “I just looked at Princess Kate at one point and I said, ‘This must be exhausting.’ And she said, ‘Why?’ I replied, ‘You just had a baby, right?’ I think she was taken aback.”

Kate had in fact just welcomed Prince Louis, now three, but apparently this wasn't something she wanted to chat about.

Rami continued by explaining how Kate, who is also mum Prince George, eight, and Princess Charlotte, six, to quickly diverted the conversation back to him, as she instead asked him how he was.

He continued: "I’m like 'No, how are you?’ And in the most regal, elegant way, she gave me a look. But you can tell. Imagine, you’re dressed to the nines, have to talk to all these actors.

“They’re so careful. But it was so cool. I think I caught her off guard for a second and she had that look of, in the most elegant, professional, royal way, ‘Yes, it’s a lot having a kid.’”

Rami continued by explaining how he then jokingly offered the royal couple his babysitting services, as he told The Duchess: "You guys go out, have a good time!"
