Kate Middleton has teamed up with radio presenter Roman Kemp to film a special campaign video for her early years initiative.
In a snap released on Thursday night – and taken earlier this month – the pair wrapped up against the winter chill to film together.
Wearing a sheepskin coat, polo neck jumper and gloves, Kate, 41, smiled for the photographer with Roman, 30, beside her in the photo taken in Hertfordshire last month.
The princess launched her Shaping Us initiative on Tuesday, an ambitious campaign described as her “life’s work” and aimed at raising the profile of the early years' development of children.
In the short film, due to be released on Friday, Kate and Roman will discuss the importance of mental wellbeing, relationships and how by nurturing children in the earliest years of their life, society can build a nation of healthy happy adults.
Roman – son of Martin Kemp – has opened up frequently about his mental health struggles after the death of his close friend, and Capital FM producer, Joe Lyons.
In 2021, Roman presented a BBC Three documentary looking at the mental health crisis affecting young men and revealed he had considered taking his own life after battling depression for more than a decade.
Kate outlined the scope of her campaign, promoted this week by a series of events and videos, during a reception on Monday, describing it as a long-term project beginning with how a child develops and the importance of the formative years.
She said it will go on to “explore in more depth the importance of a child’s social and emotional world” and the significance of relationships and “surroundings and experiences”.
“And of course, by understanding our own childhoods – what has shaped our own beliefs, relationships, behaviours and feelings – we, as adults, are better placed to play our part in positively shaping future generations,” she added.
Kate launched a brand new Instagram account for The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood – and the page will promote the Princess of Wales’ work on early years development.
It comes after Roman had an embarrassing moment with the Princess of Wales – when he told Kate he thought she "looked fit" when he hosted the Platinum Jubilee Party.
He said on Loose Women: "It was such an incredible day. Afterwards, they did have a party inside Buckingham Palace. It was an honour to be there.
"What was brilliant is that the palace also invited all the camera crew. Everyone was there and that was really really fantastic."
Roman then revealed: "And as I was walking across the room, I kind of bumped in at this point and Princess Catherine was there and all of a sudden, I've seen her and she's gone, 'Oh, hi. Roman, you look great.'"
He admitted he got nervous, which saw him respond to her: "Oh yeah, you look really fit.
"I was mortified, I’ve never said that to anyone!”
