Coronation Street star Jane Danson was tagged in a harsh comment from a Twitter user, who claimed she was better looking in her younger years. The remark was called out by the Leanne Battersby star on the micro-blogging site this evening, which prompted many fans to react.
The comment read: “@RealJaneDanson gee u were beautiful on ur younger days.. rough now.”(sic)
Jane, 43, hit back writing: “This is the kinda of c**p people on tv get all the time!(sic)
“Can you imagine going up to someone in the street and being so rude?
“I never bite back but this is unnecessary. Keep your nasty thoughts to yourself #bekind.”
Many of Jane’s 164,000 followers flocked to her post to send their support.
One commented: “@RealJaneDanson love don’t listen to that hater you are beautiful now and beautiful then that hater doesn’t know what they are talking about you are b****y gorgeous.”
Victoria wrote: “I think you are beautiful hun! Xx.”
Sal V added: “It’s hideous Jane, you’re as lovely now on screen, as you always have been, probably better.”
Ian Edmonds penned: “You’re still as lovely as ever despite what others think, it’s how you think of yourself that counts xxxx.”
“Well said, lovely! totally unnecessary, how dare they be so rude. You are beautiful by the way and your beauty shines as much as your incredible talent,” another wrote.
The actress has since thanked their fans for their supportive words, writing: “Thanks for the messages re the troll. It did upset me for a minute but lets not be as bad. Point made x.”
Jane has been a part of the soap since 1997 when she arrived as troublesome teenager Leanne.

In her many years playing the role, she has been at the centre of a fair few hard-hitting storylines.
Leanne’s early days saw her marry Nick Tilsley (played by Ben Price) and elope to Scotland.
Their marriage fell apart when he forced her to have an abortion, which prompted her to spiral out of control.
Following a drug addiction, she moved away in 2000 to escape from gangster Jez Quigley (Lee Boardman).
She returned to the soap and married Nick again in 2013 before another split occurred. Although back together now, their relationship is currently on the rocks following recent events.
Last month, she was seen fighting for her life following a feud with drug lord Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).
After an explosive end and the death of Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac), she and Nick have been left to raise his son Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan).
Could the situation be too much for Leanne?
Ben recently said of their relationship: “The dynamic of the family always lends itself to those high stake stories and Jane [Leanne] and I like being part of that.
“Nick and Leanne aren’t really built for domestic bliss, they work best when there is a crisis they have to work through.”
Coronation Street continues tomorrow at 7.30am on ITV.
