Kelly Clarkson Rocks 80s Style To Cover A Flock Of Seagulls I Ran (So Far Away)

Kelly Clarkson performed a cover of A Flock of Seagulls‘ 1982 hit “I Ran (So Far Away)” during the “Kellyoke” segment of a recent episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”

For the performance, Clarkson donned a retro look with a purple and green mixed pattern mini-dress matched with a black leather belt and large gold earrings, while the members of her band Y’all also dressed in looks from the 80’s.

“I never thought I’d meet a girl like you,” she sings. “With auburn hair and tawny eyes / The kind of eyes that hypnotize me through/ And I ran, I ran so far away.”

“I Ran (So Far Away),” also released as “I Ran”, was released in 1982 as A Flock of Seagulls’ third single and it was the second single from their self-titled debut album.

The song topped the charts in Australia, and reached No. 7 in New Zealand and No. 9 in the United States.
