Kelsey Parker told to ‘keep children completely out of new relationship’ by grief expert

Last week it emerged that Kelsey Parker – widow to the late The Wanted singer Tom – has reportedly embarked onto a new romance and is dating electrician Sean Boggans, eight months after her husband lost his battle with brain cancer.

It also emerged that divorcee Sean, who is believed to have two children of his own, is a convicted killer. He was sentenced to four years in prison after fatally knocking out a stranger with a single punch during a row over a taxi.

In 2013, Sean was jailed at the Old Bailey for manslaughter after killing Shaun McDermott, 44, outside a Romford pub.

Tina Wilson, Relationship and grief therapist, believes it best that mum-of-two Kelsey keep her two children Aurelia, three, and Bodhi, two – whom she shares with late husband Tom – "completely out of her new relationship", though she "might be keen to bring some joy into her life".

"One thing Kelsey will be completely aware of is that life is short, and nothing is guaranteed," says Tina. "So while this new relationship may be a rebound, it is helping her to keep moving at this present time and any chance of happiness she can get will be a break from the heart-breaking loss she has experienced."

Tina believes Kelsey is trying to "move forward" from the heartache of losing her partner of 13 years.

"Kelsey has experienced severe trauma," Tina explains. "Just because she is spending time with someone else, it does not mean she has stopped grieving for her beloved husband.

"Grief affects everyone in different ways, but unanimously it reminds us that life is precious and that we should find happiness in every moment that we can."

The mum-of-two was reportedly set up with Sean, 39, by friends at a wedding in Greece in September.

He was also at her side for another pal’s big day in Greenwich, south London, last month.

It’s thought that the pair are tentatively getting to know each other and taking things slowly.

"What she is doing is trying to shift the loneliness and pain she must feel and begin to live again, and move forward in some way," explains Tina.

"Spending time with someone completely unattached to her life will give her a break from her grief and provide a sense of a detached normality.

"No one else has been through what Kelsey has, so they are not fit to judge. There is a saying, ‘Walk in someone’s shoes before you judge them,’ and that is very key to this situation."

Tina Wilson is a relationship and grief expert and founder of the dating app Wingman.
