Kevin Spacey Found Not Guilty On All Counts Of Sexual Assault In UK Trial

The verdict is in for Kevin Spacey’s sexual assault case.

The disgraced actor was found not guilty on nine counts of sexual assault in his UK-based trial at the Southwark Crown Court in London Wednesday. He was initially charged with 12 counts between the years of 2001 and 2013, but some of the charges were struck out, according to BBC News.

The outlet reported that the 64-year-old, who celebrated his birthday the same day as being cleared of all charges, cried in court as the not guilty verdicts were read. Following the news, Spacey exited the building and immediately gave a statement to the press, sharing that he’s been “humbled” by the results:

“I imagine that many of you can understand that there is a lot for me to process after what has just happened today. But I would like to say that I’m enormously grateful to the jury for having taken the time to examine all of the evidence and all of the facts carefully before they reached their decision, and I am humbled by the outcome today. I also want to thank the staff inside this courthouse, the security and all those who took care of us every single day, my legal team, Evan Lowenstein and Lucy for being here every day.”
