Kids TV star looks unrecognisable 21 years after her debut as she returns to front new TV series – but can you guess who it is?

A CBeebies star looks almost unrecognisable as she fronts a new kids’ series.

The former Balamory actress has joined the cast of Olga De Polga, with her real-life partner taking on the role of her on-screen husband in the TV series.

21 years on from her Balamory debut, the actress has ditched her famous bob, and now sports long red tresses – but can you guess who it is?

Who is it? A former Balamory actress has joined the cast of Olga De Polga, with her real-life partner taking on the role of her on-screen husband in the TV series

Julie Wilson Nimmo, 51, who played school teacher Miss Hoolie in Balamory from 2002 to 2005, now looks completely from her beloved character.

The pre-school series, which aired on CBeebies between 2002 and 2005, followed characters dressed in colours that matched their houses.

During her time on Balamory, Julie was known for sporting an upturned bob haircut with a green jacket and matching green scarf and hat.

And now, 18 years after leaving the role, Julie fronts a brand new kids’ TV series with her husband, Scottish comedian Greg Hemphill, 53.

New look! 21 years on from her Balamory debut, the actress has ditched her famous bob, and now sports long red tresses – but can you guess who it is?

The new TV series, Olga da Polga, is based on Paddington Bear author Michael Bond’s children’s books, The Tales Of Olga De Polga – about a guinea pig.

The pet guinea pig – who loves boasting about her wild adventures to her animal friends – lives with her owners and their eight year-old daughter, Karen.

The loved-up duo – who married in 1999 – play the role of Mr and Mrs Sawdust, with the actress debuting new long red tresses ahead of the show’s recent start date.

Their on-screen daughter Karen is played by Glasgow schoolgirl Isla Mercer, eight, in her debut role, while Lesley Harcourt, 26,  voices Olga.

Actress Julie and her husband Greg share two sons, Benny and Chevy.

The family previously lived in Titusville, Florida near Kennedy Space Center, before moving back to Glasgow.
