King Charles and Camilla spotted in rare public display of affection amid Harry drama

King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla were spotted engaging in a rare public display of affection as they completed a busy day of engagements in Greater Manchester.

Camilla, 75, was pictured linking arms with her husband as they left a venue in Bolton to a waiting crowd of cheering well-wishers.

The royal couple could be seen arm in arm as they walked down the steps of Bolton Town Hall and Charles, 74, greeted those waiting with a wave.

The Queen Consort wrapped up against the cold in brown suede boots and a beige coat, which she wore over a patterned blue dress.

Meanwhile His Majesty was also braced for the freezing temperatures in a long black woollen coat and blue trousers.

Charles and Camilla are rarely affectionate with one another in public.

The duo were at the Town Hall to celebrated the building’s 150th anniversary and meet community representatives.

Their appearance comes after Charles’ son Prince Harry’s bombshell revelations in his new memoir Spare, which have sent shockwaves around the world.

The controversial book is packed with plenty of explosive claims and stories, including Harry saying he and his brother The Prince of Wales "begged” their father not to marry Camilla for fear she’d be the “wicked stepmother”.

He also accused her of campaigning to become Queen and claimed she leaked stories to the press about members of the royal family in order to rehabilitate her own image.

Ahead of the publication of the memoir Harry, 38, also branded his stepmother a “villain” in a TV interview.

Speaking with Anderson Cooper on CBS’ 60 Minutes, Harry told the presenter: “She was the villain, she was a third person in the marriage, she needed to rehabilitate her image.

"That made her dangerous because of the connections that she was forging within the British press.

"And there was open willingness on both sides to trade information and with a family built on hierarchy, and with her on the way to being Queen Consort, there was going to be people or bodies left in the street because of that."

However, during an appearance on Good Morning America, Harry said he didn't think Camilla was a "wicked stepmother" and had a "huge amount of compassion for her".

He also revealed he hasn't spoken to her for a long time. Harry said of Camilla: "I see someone who married into this institution and has done everything that she can to improve her own reputation and her own image for her own sake."

Charles and Camilla tied the knot back in 2005 in a civil ceremony at Windsor Guildhall.
