Kristen Stewart Loves That You Still Love 'Twilight'

Nobody's more surprised about the Twilight renaissance than the series's star, Kristen Stewart. And while she's not quite sure why the decade-old vampire saga is back in the headlines, she's not mad about it. Thank Netflix (which made all the films available to stream back in July 2021), thank nostalgia, thank the cozy feeling that comes with watching something over and over again — whatever you credit with the Twilight resurgence, Stewart says she's just happy it's making everyone happy.

"I had no idea, [but] it's great," Stewart told Entertainment Tonight. "I saw that it was on Netflix … like, it was on there while I was looking through. Dude, it's weird because it feels incredibly far away and also still not that far away from me and my time in this film. I don't know … On one hand, you're like, 'Oh, I'm old, my God, I did this five minutes ago. And now it's like 10-year anniversary.' I'm like, wow, I have to go to my high school anniversary already."

Stewart spoke about how she's getting on re-watching things, too. And while she's not revisiting her own work, she's all about another childhood favorite.

"I think it's amazing. I get it," she said. "I watched all the Harry Potters recently. It's fun to just sit and [watch.] It's also the holidays, it's cozy. it makes sense to me."

Thanks to social media, Twilight has managed to stay in everyone's feeds, whether it's on TikTok or Instagram. There are the "Bella, where have you been, loca" memes and, thanks to a devoted team of social media savants, Twilight getting inserted into any other of the memes du jour.

For her part, Stewart keeps talking about her time with Bella, too — and the relationship that she developed with co-star Robert Pattinson.

"Whatever, we were young and stupid and, not to say that we made it so much better," she said of their love story back in 2021. "But that's what [the film] needed, and that's what anybody playing those parts needed to feel."
