Lady Gaga explained how director Ridley Scott allowed the actresses to “go there”, as she suggested there is a hidden side to the film. The popstar also hinted that sex scenes between the pair might be included in the director’s cut of the film.

Gaga, 35, played lead character Patrizia Gucci in the film, who was famously convicted of hiring a hitman to kill husband Maurizio Gucci, played by Adam Driver.

Salma, 55, played psychic Giuseppina ‘Pina’ Auriemm, who played an important role in carrying out the assassination in the film.

According to Gaga, the two women developed a “sexual relationship” in unseen footage.

Speaking in an interview shared from a recent awards Q&A, the musician could be seen telling the audience about the hidden scenes.

She said in the video shared by PopCrave: “There’s a whole side of this film that you did not see, where Pina and I developed a sexual relationship.

After the audience laughed, Gaga continued quite sincerely: “Director’s cut, who knows?

“This is a testament to [Ridley Scott] as a director because he allowed us to go there.

“I remember being on set with Salma and going, ‘So after Maurizio dies, maybe it gets hot?’ And she was like, ‘What are you talking about?’”

As the audience laughed again, Salma quipped: “You think she’s kidding.”

Gaga is currently rumoured to receive an Oscar nomination for Best Actress for her portrayal of Patrizia.

The star was previously nominated for Best Actress back in 2019 for her lead role in the film A Star Is Born.

Gaga was already nominated by the Golden Globes in the drama category for best actress in a motion picture, but the award ultimately went to Nicole Kidman for Being the Ricardos.

Meanwhile, Salma had a career first in 2021 when she made her debut into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ajak in superhero film Eternals.

Back in 2002, her performance as Frida Kahlo in Frida garnered her nominations for Best Actress at the 75th Academy Awards.

House of Gucci was directed by cinematic legend Ridley Scott, who is responsible for iconic films including Blade Runner, Gladiator and Alien.

Ridley has received a best director Oscar nomination for his films Thelma and Louise, Gladiator and Black Hawk Down.

He also received a best picture Oscar nomination for The Martian and won BAFTA’s Outstanding British Contribution To Cinema award in 1994.

House of Gucci has received mixed to positive reviews, although the family themselves have denounced the film.

The wider cast includes legendary actors Al Pacino and Jeremy Irons, as well as Jared Leto and Call My Agent’s Camille Cottin.

House of Gucci is still showing in some UK cinemas.
