Celebrity Big Brother star Lauren Harries has confirmed that she is now in recovery after undergoing an emergency surgical procedure on her brain.
The 45 year old star was rushed to hospital last week for the procedure, with the cause of her symptoms currently unknown.
But now, with a little help from her mum Katy, an update has been shared on the star’s social media page that reveals she is currently recovering well following the operation.
Posting on Lauren’s Twitter account on Tuesday, Katy wrote: “Yesterday they moved Lauren back to recovery, she is under close watch. She still has memory issues and confusion.
“The doctors say that she does not need another operation atm they are taking it day by day. Please pray for her and send her your love. Thank you for your kindness.”
The brilliant news comes just one day after Katy revealed that her daughter “would have died” if she hadn’t had the surgery, but did confess that they had been forced to perform Lauren’s “worst nightmare” by shaving her head.
In a photo shared from her hospital bed, the TV star could still be seen smiling despite her ordeal as she lay beside an art book.
The accompanying caption read: “Lauren has woken up after her brain surgery. They had to shave her hair. As you know this is Lauren's worst nightmare but she would have died if not.”
“The amazing staff in the Heath Hospital have been wonderful. Thank you for your kind words, her recovery ahead. Update to follow.”
Since the news broke of Lauren’s health ordeal, countless fans rallies to send their warmest wishes to the ailing star as they hoped she would make a swift and full recovery.
Katy herself, even called for fans to keep her daughter in their prayers on Friday, as she anxiously awaited news about the operation and Lauren’s health.
Taking to Twitter, Katy wrote: “Please pray or send good thoughts to my precious daughter Lauren @Laurenharries. Who is recovering from emergency brain surgery today.”
Lauren first found fame as a 12-year-old antiques expert, who appeared on the Antiques Roadshow and Wogan, before undergoing gender reassignment surgery in 2003.
She later came back into the spotlight in 2013 after appearing on the 12th series of Celebrity Big Brother.
The Welsh star has since carved out a TV career and even released a single, I Am A Woman, in 2015.
She previously opened up about her gender reassignment surgery and said it was more dangerous compared to what it is now.
Lauren previously told theDaily Star: "It is a big operation and when I had it done all those years ago it was more dangerous as they didn’t know enough about it.
"There was talk that if I had it done I would have a heart attack in my 30s as my body wouldn’t be able to deal with it.
"To me, it was like get me in the kitchen, get a vet, get whoever, let's get it done, in those days it lost me £20,000 but I think it was more then than it is now."
