Lewis Capaldi one his dad who was supposed to have had a vasectomy
A resurfaced YouTube documentary sees singer Lewis Capaldi admit that his birth was an accident due to his dad’s vasectomy “not working”.
The 26-year-old Scottish singer made the revelation in the 22-minute short documentary called Birthday Song.
Explaining why the family spent his birthday sad, he said: “You should’ve seen my dad, he was really sad.
“My mum was even more sad. He was supposed to have had a vasectomy. I was a mistake.”
His elder brother Warren confirmed that Lewis wasn’t a part of his parents’ plan.

“Lewis was just an immaculate conception,” he confessed in the film.
“I remember my dad had a vasectomy and then nine months later we got a surprise with Lewis popping out.”
The subject came up as the film follows Lewis as he creates a cover of the song that was number one on the day that he was born.
As he records his own version of the 1996 hit Setting Sun by the Chemical Brothers and Noel Gallagher, which held the top spot on his birthday, he opens up about his life.
Lewis recently cancelled all his upcoming shows to ensure he was in full health for his Glastonbury set today.

He took to Instagram to explain the situation to his 6.7 million followers.
“Hi everyone, hope you’re well. This is a really difficult message and one that hurts me a lot to have to type,” he began.
“But I’m really sorry to say that I’m going to have to cancel all commitments from now until I play Glastonbury on June 24th.
“It’s been such an incredible time leading into this new album, and seeing all of the support from everyone has been beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of.
“That said, the last few months have been full on both mentally and physically, I haven’t been home properly since Christmas and at the moment I’m struggling to get to grips with it all.”
He continued: “I need to take a moment to rest and recover, to be at my best and ready for Glastonbury and all of the other incredible shows coming up so that I’m able to continue doing what I love for a long time to come.
“I need to take these three weeks to be Lewis from Glasgow for a bit, spend some time with my family and friends and do normal life things that are an important part of me feeling better. I hope everyone understands.”
“The fact you’re willing to come out and spend your time, money and love on these shows is beyond comprehension and I feel incredibly lucky”, he said.
One of the cancelled gigs included a Dublin date in aid of the children’s charity ISPCC.
However, Lewis very generously donated £50,000 of his own money to the cause when he was forced to call off the show.
