Former One Direction heartthrob Liam Payne has showed off his trim and toned physique as he staged a private performance to celebrate entrepreneur and investor Christian Angermayer’s birthday.
The singer, who shot to fame in 2008 on The X Factor, appeared at Christian’s birthday celebration earlier this week to perform a selection of songs as part of the elaborate shindig.
In a short clip of the event shared to social media platform Instagram, 28 year old Liam could be seen flaunting his muscles as he performed a shirtless rendition of George Michael’s classic song Amazing.
Wearing a low slung pair of khaki trousers, an Emporio Armani belt was on show as he performed the track before the clip cut to a montage from the rest of the evening.
While wearing an open black Prada shirt later in the video, Liam continued to flaunt his impressive muscles as he celebrated the night away alongside his friend Christian in more clips.
Alongside the video, Liam shared a sweet birthday message which said: “In case anyone has been wondering what I'd been up to recently… Thanks for inviting me to perform at your birthday @christianangermayer and good catching up with @steveaoki the best way we know how!!”
The latest performance will no doubt come as welcome news to many fans, who are still on tenterhooks waiting for One Direction to reunite after rumours circulated online that bookies Coral were expecting it to happen at some point this year.
Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam himself are all tipped to be making a return this year according to Coral, although original lineup member Zayn Malik is not expected to join them.
Zayn famously parted ways with the group back in 2015 and just a few short months later, the rest of the group broke the hearts of millions of fans worldwide when they announced an indefinite hiatus to pursue other projects.
According to the firm, the odds stand at 5-4 for all five members of the group – including Zayn Malik – are set to appear in a special reunion, while they are also odds of 2-1 that the band will announce a new album is being made later this year.
Despite splitting seven years ago, the group isn’t without its devoted fans, with all five boys still highly popular all around the world.
The most successful so far is Harry Styles, who launched his hotly anticipated solo career to critical acclaim – with the singer even expected to appear on the silver screen later this year in Hollywood movie Don’t Worry Darling.
Not all of the band’s members have been so eager to court the spotlight however, with Liam Payne and Zayn Malik preferring to remain out of the limelight after they both became dads and focused more of their time on the challenges of parenting.
Louis Tomlinson also remains active in the music scene, having announced he had signed a global deal with BMG back in May 2021.
