Jesy Nelson may have left Little Mix, but the songstress is still making waves with her gorgeous snaps. However, it’s not all about looking “flawless” for the 29-year-old.
On Tuesday evening, Jesy posted a rant on her Instagram stories, slamming the social media platform for the amount of unrealistic filters.
“I have been going through my filters on my phone,” Jesy explained to her 7.6 million followers, flaunting her stunning caramel curls in a plain white tank top.
“Every filter that I’ve been on makes my nose tiny and skinny, makes your lips huge, and your eyes either a different colour or really big,” she added.

“I won’t lie… I like a little Instagram filter that makes you look a bit more tanned or makes your skin look a little bit fresher,” the star admitted. “But why does every filter change your nose?”
Jesy continued, explaining she was confused by the changes many Instagram filters make to users’ faces. “I really don’t understand this because, for me, your nose is the most prominent point of your face,” she explained. “I feel like noses are literally what make you you.”
Having warned her fans that she’s having a rant, Jesy – who reportedly recently rekindled her relationship with Sean Sagar – went on to slam the popular social media platform.
“I don’t understand why Instagram feels the need to literally squash your nose and make it really skinny. Like, what’s wrong with a standard nose? I’m just so confused as to why whoever makes these filters thinks that that’s what beautiful is. I just think it’s bloody weird,” she said.

Jesy followed her rant with a funny picture of herself with a comical nose sticker on her face that read: “Embrace that nose."
In a recent interview with The Guardian, Jesy revealed that she’s suffered horrendous trolling about her appearance since the moment she won The X-Factor with her former bandmates. It’s therefore understandable that she wants to encourage her fans and followers to love their natural features.
When Little Mix were crowned the winners, the first message Jesy saw was from a nasty stranger. It said: “You are the ugliest thing I have ever seen in my life. You do not deserve to be in this girl band, you deserve to die.”

“I should have been on cloud nine,” she told The Guardian. “I had Leigh-Anne [Pinnock, also of Little Mix] in my room being like: ‘This is the best!’ and I was like: ‘No, this isn’t.’”
The singer, who recently left Little Mix, admitted that being in the group “took a toll” on her mental health. She also revealed that she found the pressure of “living up to expectations” incredibly difficult to cope with.
At the end of last year, Jesy announced she has left the group to “reinvest in taking care of [her]self”.
