ITV presenter Lorraine Kelly, 61, has apologised profusely to The Wanted on Twitter after she accidentally gave the band “an eyeful” on air when the top button of her shirt suddenly popped off. The star was busy interviewing The Wanted’s Tom Parker, 33, Max George, 33, Jay McGuinness, 31, Nathan Sykes, 28, and Siva Kaneswaran, 32, on her self-titled show, Lorraine, when she suffered the unfortunate wardrobe malfunction.
The Wanted’s official Twitter page posted about the awkward incident after the show this morning.
Alongside a snap of the boy band on the sofa with Lorraine giggling beside them, The Wanted wrote in view of their 1.3 million followers: “That was a lot of fun, and an eyeful.
“Thanks @reallorraine,” they concluded, with an added crying with laughter emoji and two face throwing a kiss emojis.
Lorraine promptly wrote back in view of her 665,000 followers: “So sorry!
“You gorgeous young men don’t need that sort of malarkey of a morning!!!”
Fans took to the comments section of the funny exchange to share their thoughts on Lorraine’s blunder.
Polly T wrote: “I think @thewanted really enjoyed their full interview this morning . A cheery start to a Friday morning. @JayMcGuiness is right, you are “a tonic” #Lorraine.”
Maureen commented: “So funny and even funnier when you said thank you both, lol x.”
Lyds added: “don’t apologise! we love seeing them be their weird selves on our tv screens.”
Lorraine’s button popped when Jay was discussing the music video to the group’s new single Rule The World, saying: “At the very end there are fireworks so we had a wonderful director, Blake and we were meant to have a minute of fireworks going off but we had 15 seconds.
“As we finished filming he went, ‘That was pathetic,’ and we all thought, ‘What happened?’ But he just meant the fireworks.”
“Oh gosh,” the ITV presenter remarked. “No you were all great.”

Interrupting Jay, Lorraine rushed to say sorry as she noticed her wardrobe mishap: “I’m so sorry my top button popped.”
“I noticed,” Jay commented, as his bandmates chuckled. “It was directly in my field of vision.”
“I’m so sorry about that,” Lorraine remarked. “You young boys don’t need that in the morning.”
“We do, it’s fantastic,” Tom quipped as the ITV presenter attempted to continue with the interview.
Siva joked: “It’s certainly woken us up.”
“Thank you both,” Lorraine quipped, before correcting herself. “Both – what am I saying? All of you.”
