Lorraine Kelly, 62, was inundated with messages of support on social media after revealing her mum, Anne, had been rushed to hospital. The ITV host took to Twitter yesterday to thank the hospital staff that had been looking after her poorly mum in view of her 711,000 followers.
She penned: “Huge thanks to @JAAFairweather and all at @UHMonklands who are taking such good care of my wee mum.
“Can’t thank you all enough.”
The TV star soon began to receive replies from fans who wished Anne a speedy recovery.

It is unclear the reason why Anne was taken into hospital but Dr Jack Fairweather is a kidney specialist at the Lanarkshire facility.
However, Lorraine later told one concerned fan that her mum was now “in safe hands”.
Johnhorneartist asked Lorraine: “Sorry to hear about your Mum Lorraine going into Hospital, Ive just read.
“I hope she gets well soon and a speedy recovery.
“Love you and all the family.” (sic)
Lorraine replied: “Thank you so much – she’s in safe hands,” alongside a heart emoji.
The update on Anne’s health came after last month Lorraine offered her support to Kate Garraway after was forced to pull out of Good Morning Britain due to her husband’s health taking a turn.
Lorraine sent her fellow broadcaster some words of support after it was confirmed she had to pull out of Good Morning Britain to be next to husband Derek Draper.
The presenter said: “I just wanted to say, we are obviously sending all of our love to our Kate.
“I know a lot of you have seen in the newspapers and online that Derek is back in hospital and obviously, you know, battling the effects after Covid.
“We just want to send our love to them, don’t we?”
