Louis Tomlinson fans flee concert after hail stones leave them with ‘broken bones and bruises’

Fans waiting to see former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, who is set to become an Uncle again after his sister Phoebe announced she was expecting, were forced to take shelter after it began unexpectedly hailing just before his set.

Louis was set to perform at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, USA – an outdoor venue that offers little to no rain cover for fans – but was forced to call the show off at the last minute.

The singer, 31, took to his Twitter to express his disappointment: “Devastated about the show tonight, hope everyone’s ok, I’ll be back! Even though we didn’t play the show I felt all of your passion! Sending you all love!”

Some fans who attended the show say the hail left them with “broken bones and bruises” as they rushed to evacuate.

“Tonight was the scariest night of my life,” one attendee wrote on Twitter: “It started pelting people with hail at Red Rocks and my sister and I luckily found shelter under a sign. I am bleeding and have huge bumps on my head from the hail.”

Another fan that attended the gig revealed that she was forced to take a friend to get medical attention: “I am safe and at the hospital with someone that fell and needs x-rays on a possible fractured wrist. There are possible head injuries, another broken hand, and a sprained ankle among the people I know.”

The local fire department shared that they had transported seven people to local hospitals “with non-life-threatening injuries” and that they had treated a further “70-80” attendees at the scene.

The West Metro Fire Department also seemed to confirm early fan reports as they revealed that they said that the treated injuries included broken bones and cuts.

Some fans who were forced to flee the scene say they’re now stranded after their vehicles were destroyed by the hailstorm.

“I know it’s not the point,” one attendee said, “but my car is DESTROYED. I cried. There’s so much damage to my car. That car is my everything.”

Fans of Louis, who is tipped for a reunion with his ex bandmates, offering lifts down the mountain have come out in droves and locals have rushed to the scene to try and help.

One fan took to Twitter to volunteer four spaces in her car and added: “whatever issues arise for Red Rocks attendees, like you need shelter, you need a ride, or you lost an item, or you have injuries, please ask the timeline and other Louie fans for help."

"We’re in this together. Don’t suffer alone. Folks are always here to chat too, if anyone needs.”
