Louise Redknapp, 47, was every inch the supportive mum today as she shared a picture of her trip to Arizona to visit her son Charley, 18. The Eternal singer shared her heartbreak last month as she parted ways with Charley after he decided to continue his studies abroad.
Louise took to Instagram to share a picture of a sunny landscape, which she captioned: “Good morning Arizona,” alongside a white love heart emoji.
The photo featured three flags against a mountainous background and a clear blue sky.
The update came after Louise admitted she cried “10 times a day” over the looming family farewell back in August.
She made the candid confession as Charley, who she shares with her ex-husband Jamie Redknapp, prepared to leave the family home.
But despite being devastated about the goodbye, Louise stressed she was “super proud” of her son.
She said: “I keep crying. I cry like 10 times a day at the moment, like if someone’s nice to me I start crying like, ‘Sorry it’s just my son’s going to university’.
“Everyone who has had kids go off to university say, it’s normal.
“I’m super proud of him but, God, I’m gonna miss him,” she added to Metro.co.uk.
Louise previously spoke out about Charley’s huge decision to move to the US for the foreseeable.
She credited her ex-husband Jamie with influencing Charley to continue studying abroad.
Louise revealed: “His dad was the one that suggested it, and thought it would be a good idea for him.
“So I was like, ‘Well, I’m not going to say no’. If that’s what he wants to do, then I’ll back whatever he wants to do.
“It was more of a surprise to me that he was going to go and do that.
“But like I said, it’s a great opportunity. And I hope that he has an amazing time,” the singer added in an interview with Hello! Magazine.
In turn, Jamie took to his Instagram in August to write a heartfelt message to his son ahead of his new adventure.
Sharing a picture of the pair together, Jamie wrote: “So a new chapter begins for you at @uarizona Charley.
“We’re so proud of you and we’ll be with you every run and step of the way.
“Enjoy and soak in all the incredible facilities at your disposal.”
Jamie continued: “Can’t wait to be back to see you again soon.”
The Sky Sports pundit signed off the message with: “We love you mate.”
