Love Island viewers are all saying the same thing after witnessing Tom Clare write a poem in an attempt to win back Samie Elishi.

The hunk threw his romance into crisis by kissing and cuddling Scottish beauty Lydia Karakyriakou during his time in Casa Amor, and since returning to the villa has been desperate to earn Samie’s trust again.

In Sunday’s episode, both Tom and Will Young formed a plan to win back their respective girls, with the former writing a poem on his phone that he would recite to Samie. 

The cringe-worthy scenes sparked a flurry of tweets from fans who struggled to enjoy the awkward recital.

Other were shocked that Samie was able to forgive Tom after such a simple gesture, especially given her apparantly fury over his infidelity.

Many fans struggled to stomach watching Tom’s awkward poem recital, with many posting hilarious memes of the moment.

One posted: ‘Tom’s poem is the cringiest thing this series,’ while another added: ‘Is Tom going to get away with this because of a poem??? srs?? wake up Samie babes.’

A third tweeted: ‘Tom wrote Samie a poen on his phone after breaking her trust, disrespecting her and mugging her off on national television and that’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for her, the bar is in hell.;

On Friday’s episode Samie was left fuming at Tom after Lydia said they did more than a ‘wee bit of flirting’ and said he had ‘never’ given her an ‘indication’ that he was leaning towards Samie. 

The senior estate agent coordinator certainly didn’t hide her anger after discovered her partner’s cheeky antics during their days apart in Casa Amor.
