Love Island star Tanya Manhenga heading back to university despite show success

Love Island finalist Tanya Manhenga isn't going to let he newfound fame derail her career plans, as she shares her plans to return to university to complete her biomedical science degree.

The 23 year old found love on the hit dating show with fellow contestant Shaq Muhammad, and the pair finished the popular ITV2 show in fourth place, however she's not going to let this success get to her head.

In an Instagram Q&A, a fan asked Tanya if she plans to return to university, or if she'll drop out now thanks to her reality TV success.

Tanya replied: "I'm definitely going to finish… I don't start things and don't finish them."

The Q&A also saw Tanya discuss her future plans with Shaq, as she told fans she that they're planning "holidays, chill days and lots of fun together."

She added: "We are like kids when we are together, we have so much fun! And I want to continue that…"

And answering whether they'll be moving in together anytime soon, Tanya said: "We really want to take our time with that step because it means a lot to me and him.

"But if I have to be closer to him I'll go to London or he'll come to Liverpool [red heart emoji]."

It comes after Tanya and Shaq had a rather drama-filled time on the Love Island reunion show as they confronted their former co-star Martin Akinola over comments he'd made about Tanya following his exit from the villa.

After the Casa Amor twist, Tanya returned to the main villa with Martin in tow, however she later recoupled with Shaq and Martin was dumped from the villa.

Following his dumping, Martin appeared on the Reality with Will Njobvu podcast, where he discussed an un-aired row he had with Shaq on move night.

He also claimed that he told his love rival: "On the outside out I would be f***ing your girls in ways you can't imagine."

After the trio were brought to the sofa by show host Maya Jama, Shaq was quick to confront Martin, telling him: "I think for me, I want to why you (Martin) came out of the show and started talking on podcasts saying you would sleep with Tanya in ways you can't imagine.

"Because one – that did not happen and two if that's how you choose to speak about women, that's up to you. But it's disgusting."

Martin admitted to making the comments, but was quick to claim that they had been taken out of context.
