Love Islander explains villa bedtime routine with warning and ‘awful’ morning wake-up

Ever wondered what really happens when it comes to their strict bedtime in the Love Island villa? One former Islander has lifted the lid on what really goes on behind the scenes from an evening warning and staying in the same clothes, to an "absolutely awful" wake-up call.

Love Islander, George Fensom was the first person in the latest series to be dumped from the villa after just a few days. But it seems the 24-year-old business development executive has a lot to say about his experience on the hit ITV2 dating show having taken to TikTok to deliver some eye-opening Q&A sessions from eager fans.

Love Island viewers bombarded George with a series of burning questions and one couldn't help but ask "How long does it take to get ready for bed?". The video received over 60K likes as the islander went in-depth about their strict bedtime routine.

Explaining George said: "When it comes to bedtime, the voice of god above will be like 'OK Islanders it's time for you to now get ready for bed'.

"That's when you see the scenes of us all walking in".

He went on to add: "Basically before we can go to bed you've got to keep your outfits on of what you were wearing that night because you've got to basically do your final beach hut before you go to bed, so it looks like it's rolled into one."

George explained that the girls will go upstairs as shown in the show to take their make-up off and get ready for bed while the boys wait downstairs. Here they are called "one by one" to the beach hut with the Islander adding "So really until you've done your last beach hut you can't actually get ready for bed.

"After that, you start brushing your teeth, washing your face, this that and the other."

The 24-year-old confessed that the girls "still take quite a while to come downstairs for bed" and jokingly added, "just put on a T-shirt on".

Concluding, George said: "If it wasn't for the beach huts it would just be snappy but we've all just got to do a last closing beach hut on the thoughts of the day or if anything happened, if a bombshell came in the evening."

He added that the bedtime routine probably takes "around half an hour" in total from when they are told to go to bed.

In another TikTok video, the Islander went on to disclose what happens in the morning as one fan asked: "Do you wake up as soon as the lights come on?". In response, George said this "was actually jarring me off."

Before explaining: "You literally get woken up with a bright light in your face, it is absolutely awful.

"It was the bane of my life, I absolutely hated it."

He went on to share that the first thing you do when you get up, "before you even go for a swig of water is put your microphone on.

"You sat in bed for about five minutes just talking about last night and then basically they start calling people to the beach hut to do their morning thing.

"And then they'll say, why don't you and a couple of the boys go up to the sun terrace?

"The girls will go upstairs to get ready and that's when they'll have their chats on the terrace in the morning".

George ended the video by saying he wouldn't "wish" the bright light wake-up call on his "enemy" before adding "I much prefer an alarm."

Love Island airs on weeknights and Sundays at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
