It looks like there could be a new couple on the horizon in the Love Island villa as newcomer Danica Taylor and original Islander Davide Sanclimenti are set to lock lips in tonight's episode.
Danica has had her sights clearly set on 'Italian Stallion' Davide, and the pair have engaged in numerous flirty chats over the last few episodes of the hit ITV2 show.
In a teaser released by ITV for tonight's episode, 21 year old Danica makes her move, telling 27 year old Davide that she wants "to get to know" him.
As the pair discuss new girl Antigoni’s arrival, Danica says: “I still want to get to know you, just as we are doing.”
Davide asks coyly: “What’s going to happen?”
Danica says: “I don’t know. We’re still vibing and chatting. What do you want to happen Davide?”
Danica adds: “I do want to get to know you. Me and you are going to have a great time over the next couple of days.”
With that, the Italian Stallion makes his own move as he leans in for a kiss and the pair enjoy a steamy smooch.
Davide is still looking for love in the villa, after he was introduced as series eight's very first bombshell, and he was given 24 hours to choose a girl to couple up with, leaving one boy single and vulnerable.
He opted to couple up with Gemma Owen, the 19 year old daughter of footballing superstar Michael Owen, leaving her partner, 23 year old Welsh student Liam Llewellyn, without a partner.
Liam ended up leaving the villa after just four days, saying that he "wasn't feeling himself".
New bombshell Ekin-Su then chose to couple up with Davide, before setting her sights on Scottish newcomer Jay Younger, with whom she shared a number of secret kisses unbeknown to Davide before, in true Love Island style, he found out and the pair had a huge argument.
The Island's latest newcomer, Antigoni Buxton, chose Davide, Jay and Dami to go on a date with in last night's episode, and she's certainly turned some heads.
The heating up of things between Danica and Davide comes as Love Island bosses have announced that it will air not one, but two, series in 2023 – one Winter Love Island, to take place in South Africa, and the regular summer Love Island, which takes place in Mallorca.
Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning and Controller, ITV2, said: "Love Island has once again proved itself to be the nation's favourite talking point across the summer, and we're always blown away by the show's ongoing impact and talkability amongst our younger audience. So, rather than just serving up a Summer of Love, we thought we'd make 2023 the Year of Love with two full series of the show."
Mike Spencer, Executive Producer at Lifted Entertainment, said: "After eight brilliant series, we are excited to be serving up two helpings of love in 2023 by kicking off in January at a stunning new villa in South Africa. We can look forward to more romances, bromances and everything in between as we embark on another epic year of love."
