Love Islands Hugo Hammond thrown out of kebab shop after trying to break up row over chips

Love Island contestant Hugo Hammond was reportedly kicked out of a kebab shop after an altercation over chips.

The reality TV star, 25, was videoed when tensions were running high as he seemingly defended a girl in a late night food spot in Clapham, after a Friday night out.

In a video of the alleged scuffle, Hugo can be seen approaching a man in an attempt to calm the mood down in the restaurant.

During the incident, a takeaway chip box is seen to be thrown by another girl.

The owners of Tora Kebab, opposite the popular south London nightclub Infernos, reportedly decided to escort everyone out of the fast food spot at 4am.

A witness to the late night incident told MailOnline: "A random man threw a chip at her as a joke. She over-reacted and got in his face shouting, throwing some food at him."

MailOnline also published the video of the alleged altercation. The reality TV star was reportedly able to return to the kebab shop and was seen ordering some more chips.

OK! has contacted Hugo's representative for comment.

Hugo found fame earlier this year when he became the first person with a physical disability to appear on Love Island.

He bravely shared his feelings about his disability recently, opening up about how it affected his time in the villa.

He told Metro: “Before I went in the show, it was very much in the press that I was the first physically disabled Islander."

Hugo added: “It’s part of why I got involved in the show, because I wanted to try and make that more mainstream, and make people who do have disabilities or do have impairments [know] that it can be mainstream, it doesn’t need to hold you back in any scenario.”

Since his time in the villa, the Love Islander has been no stranger to a little tension, as viewers of the reunion show witnessed earlier this year.

When host Laura Whitmore quizzed Hugo on his romantic misfortunes in the villa, his ex-love interests were not happy with his lack of reasoning.

At the time, he explained: “I don't think it was unfair but say if it was the other way around, say it was one girl and four guys up there it would never have happened.”

The reality star added: “So it was a little bit intimidating, a little bit like 'oh my god, what a situation to be in'."
