Love Islands Liberty Poole poses topless as she shuts down trolls with empowering clip

Former Love Islander Liberty Poole has hit back at online trolls with a powerful video featuring some of the nasty comments she’s received on social media.

Liberty, who featured on season seven of the ITV show alongside contestants like Liam Reardon, Faye Winter and Chloe Burrows, celebrated International Women’s Day on Wednesday with an empowering video posted on her Instagram.

The former waitress and marketing student posted a black and white video to her Instagram account that showed her in jeans as she covered the top of her naked body with her arms.

Mean comments flanked the reality TV star, with one reading: “Not good enough.”

Other comments included “dumb blonde” and “no talent”, as others dubbed her “catfish” and “chubby.”

The post, which has since received over 15k likes, also saw the Birmingham local address her fans directly in the comments.

She penned: “Today is our day. International Women’s day and I wanted to talk about Labels, how many times in your life has someone labelled you something or underestimated you because of society’s expectations or stereotypes?”

“You may start to believe it and it may limit you. The constant need to keep up with society/ social media expectations is draining and I wanted to say JUST BE UNAPOLOGETICALLY YOU,” the former Dancing on Ice star, who competed on the show against Kimberly Wyatt, Ben Foden and Sally Dynevor, added.

“Still Love every version of you when others choose to show you hate instead of love because it’s a reflection on them and nothing you’ve done.”

She concluded the lengthy statement with: “Have them goals , achieve them and keep being the boss babe you are don’t let silly words get you down we are strong women and let’s support each other.”

Liberty’s mum, Jo Poole, commented on the post and explained: “I've watched you deal with those people who like to place you in their box of assumptions with labels of 'dumb blonde' or 'too young to achieve…'

"Even if you weren't a straight 'A' student who studied 3 Science subjects at A level and went on to study Marketing at Uni, these small minds would still continue to label.

“I'm proud of you for always standing up for what is right, and doing this for others too. You are and always will be good enough Lib simply for being you. I love you, have a great and happy IWD.”

Fans and friends also celebrated Liberty’s post, many of which applauded her courage for being so honest.

“Yes Liberty ! You are the definition of your name ! LIBERTY- BE FREE ! DO what you like because you can! YES GORL,” one person said, as another added, “Thank you for sharing such an important message."
