Lucy Mecklenburgh has detailed the terrifying moment she had to rush her baby girl to hospital after she developed a high temperature.
The former TOWIE star, 30, who recently teased having more children with Ryan Thomas, shared how her daughter wasn't "coping well" after catching a cough from her brother Roman, two, and was "choking on milk and saliva".
Taking to her Instagram stories, Lucy posted a photo of her baby girl with a tube attached to her face as she lay sleeping.
Over this, she told her 1.7million followers: "Lots of messages asking where I've been for 5 days.
"Unfortunately Lilah got really poorly with Bronchiolitis so we have had a few days in hospital She is home now and doing well I'm obviously not in any position to give medical advice but this is our experience for parents that may want to know what happened & what to look out for."
Lucy then explained that Roman first came down with a "really bad cough", which she presumed he picked up from preschool.
"Lilah caught it and 3 days in she wasn't coping with it very well, tummy sucking in, cough getting worse, high temperature, coughing & choking on milk and her saliva," she went on to explain, sharing the symptoms her little girl experienced.
Lilah was then given oxygen and "was tube fed for a couple of days," before getting a nose swab.
After testing positive for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), Lucy shared that this causes Bronchiolitis.
According to the NHS, bronchiolitis is a common chest infection that affects babies and children under the age of two. Although treatable at home, it can be serious as symptoms include sneezing, a runny or blocked nose, a cough and a slightly high temperature of 38C.
"The swab isn't routine anymore but with Roman's health issues it was important for me to know exactly what she had," Lucy continued.
She ended her post by sharing that the her little baby girl is "home & happy now just a little sleepy & still has a bad cough."
Last week, Lucy opened up on her son Roman's health after he was rushed to hospital in 2021 after being found "blue in his cot".
Roman was then placed on a ventilator in intensive care and now takes daily medication and uses an inhaler to help him breathe properly.
But he recently suffered a setback as Lucy took to her Instagram stories to share: "After a really positive few months with Roman have a diagnosis & on the thickened fluids.
"He has a little wheeze & cough so we are back here it's still a win if we don't end up in a&e," alongside a snap of Roman's medication and inhaler.
Back in March, she revealed that doctors had discovered that fluid had been entering Roman's lungs whenever he had a drink.
The two year old then underwent a videofluroscopy – a moving x-ray taken as a patient consumes fluid. Doctors discovered that fluid was going into Roman's lungs.
Lucy and Ryan's son now must have a special thickener instead of thin liquids, to ensure that no liquid gets into his lungs. He could have to use the thickener for "years" as definitive answers and solutions have still not been outlined yet.
